While reviewing an old newspaper article regarding Queens, N.Y. USA Democratic politician Morton Povman, I became curious as to whether he actually has done anything about it in the decade since this article.
Although right-handed Mr. Povman was airing his disdain regarding prejudice against Left-handers in society, and demanding legal protection under America's anti-discrimination laws. He wants city, state and federal laws to protect left-handers.
Povman says, "Society still discriminates against left-handed persons by such actions as placing bannisters on the right side of a stairwell, producing doors that open in favour of right-handed users, and by making few school supplies for left-handers".
It has been 10 long years since he made this a public issue. Has anything been done in Queens, N.Y. USA since?, or was this just a right-handed politician making noise without substance?
